well im done. i'll have details and pics up tomm, too dam tired after mopping the whole kitchen cuz of the bubbles and taking off some grime in holes the dishwasher couldnt get to. I think i did a better job using the ol' elbow grease method, but ive never cleaned a block before so u can judge for yourself when i put up the pics tomm.

time for shower and some sleep.

ROFLMAO!

Please tell me you used dishwashing detergerent. Normal soaps will leave suds all over the kitchen.

I want to see pics.

Here are the pics, all these pics were huge so im just posting the smaller versions:

This didnt really work, so I had to put it on a rack.

This side was already clean .

Messy side.

Don't use toooooo much palmolive, or your place will flood!!!

Please don't add the extra soap like i did

Here is after the first wash, BTW, dont use the pot scrubber option, even if i put small amount of soap in, it would just flood the place, trust me i tried 3 times . Maybe its just my dishwasher, i had to use the Light cycle.

Second wash with Engine Foam degreaser, i let it sit for 10 minutes before starting the second wash. And then before starting i sprayed with super clean as well.

Final pics, there was minimal left over grime in tight spaces:

here is the final pic of the dishwasher after i did 1 cycle of wash afterwards. As i said before, i had already cleaned the block by hand for 4 days, so it was pretty much clean, except for the two sides.

If you want me to post bigger pics of some of them, just let me know. Next time i think i might just try the carb cleaner option. I forgot to mention, i washed it 4 times at every angle so the bottom spinning thing could get to all the block.

I used full strength "Castrol Super Clean" and a couple of brushes. That stuff is amazing on grease and grime!

Even so, you're still going to have oil, grit, and grime in the plumbing and pumps and crap that will be in there for a long time. I don't know if I'd want to be drinking out of glasses that have that and any chemicals you might be using on it.

I have quite a bit of knowledge about dishwashers (don't ask how) and I can tell you I wouldn't want to be eating at this guys house after he does this.

Another option would be to go out and get a junker dishwasher from somewhere and just use it for parts cleaning.

Just something to think about.

I would've used the wire brush wheel to begin with. Would've saved alot of time. You'll see...

I couldnt find the brushes to clean all the small block passages with (oil and what not). I found some in the Gun section of walmart but they were kinda expensive cuz u had to buy the extension bar. Luckily I found these in the Fish section I checked all the auto stores and they told me those types of brushes are specialty tools, even Canadian Tire didnt have em.

Got some steel wool to clean the block as well. Along with the Motor Flush and Carb Cleaner to clean the current motor out. Walmart

You need a drill with a small wire brush (+ some simple green). Then it'll shine.
