Default Digi Key map sensor - Two nipples :O

I ordered a couple of sensors off digi key, i found a part number on here, and entered it, three came up, two were out, and one in stock. 36 psi i believe. Anywyas, theres two nipples, any one know why? Is it like an in out type of thing. It looks like the other ones i see on here are just one inlet. Otherwise they look like the same sensor.

theres your problem

the DP after 4250 means is a dual port
the right map sensors are MPX4250AP wich are single ported and they are out of stock everywhere

and in case you get the single ports, i fabricate the single port adapters

Uh... The wires are soldered to the pins. I was just offering up an alternate mounting solution for the Motorola 2.5 bar. I don't think its designed for the engine compartment environment.

Makes sense, i was going to order one a long time ago, but they were out of stock then too... oh well.

I will update this later tonight, once i find the wiring procedure, and let you guys no how the dual port works out

Nice adapter too by the way.

Update.....

Seems fine, idles, haven't driven it yet. No CEL or anything.

I have to scale my maps in Uber, that 8psi jump is a little much

I'll post up tommorow if it runs normal, right now i just have one of the ports open, i couldn't blow through it, so i'm assuming it'll be okay, i'll have to data log and see tommorow though.

I saw somewhere the 'DP' isnt for dual port, its for differential. 'AP' is absolute. My guess is it takes the difference from current air pressure on one nipple, rather than from the calibrated 0bar the 'AP' versions do. Take a multi-meter to the leads, turn the car on, and blow very hard into the open port.

Meaning... it could be iffy at best. High speeds that increase underhood pressure could affect it, as could cabin pressure (if it's inside).

As for availibility, a few places seem to still have them, but they aren't exactly retail places. I also saw some pdf on a 'plating change' sch'd for last nov-dec on many of that type of sensor, my guess is they fubar'd something.

well that makes sense too, i like the dual port better

So, what if i just capped that port off, wouldn't it just see 0 pressure then? Or am i being too simple minded on that one.

Well, i tried it, and it'll idle for the most part, but hit the gas, and no go, just dies. Tried a couple of different maps, went back to my old map, and stock map, and no issues, so who knows. Anyone explain how they figured out the wiring on the proper map sensor. It has the notch in one of the pins, so i'm assuiming thats number 1.
