Differences in brand of pistons
I need to decide what brand to go with on my build: JE pro, CP or Arias? What advantages does one design have over another?
I realize may have their personal preference, but I would like some facts to back up one choice over another.

Re: Differences in brand of pistons (ej8)
I went through the same dilemma....I decided to go with CP, no regrets. My new build has about 600 miles thus far and is running great. I had my machinist shoot for 81.5mm exactly on the bore job, since the tolerance is built into the design of the piston. Nice to not have to worry about any guess work. I also had my domes ceramic coated and skirts dry film coated. The pistons are slightly noisier at startup than stockers, but that's due to the material and skirt design, it's hardly noticeable if the machining is done right.

my CP came with a sheet that told me what clearnace i need. It didnt say anything about a built in clearance. So we just bored the bore to 3.5 thousandths bigger than the piston.

Well I have a few motors with cp pistons and love it!
Earl laskey builds all his blocks with cp's if they are good enough for him they are good enough for me

if you look at the tops of cp pistons you can see how they are machined down to a pinpoint in the exact center of the piston. Some ot the others you mentioned just dont seem to have that same touch. MO

I think Arias makes the best pistons because of their history, and how much details they give you on their pistons and specs.
even though I used JE, WISECO, and CP with no problem. but Arias just gives you more info than the rest, and second best is WISECO. thats just my opinion from research and some experience.
