Default Dial indicator question

Hey guys, I was just wondering what type of dial indiactor stands you are using and where you are buying them from. I would like to get a flexible type to measure endplay and check the crank for roundness. All I seem to find is the fixed magnetic type meant for cylinder bores. Let me know what you gus use, thanks

I have a magnetic base. All you have to do is make a steel plate that you can bolt on to the block (since it's aluminum and non magnetic) temporarily, so you can still take your measurements.

Yeah, I have used both a magnetic base and a little custom setup that bolts down using the rods from a magnetic base. It's fairly simple if you just have some scrap to use for mounting. I am at work otherwise I'd post a pic of mine.
