Just bought it. Def. going to try it out. I was comtemplating making something of this nature, but for the price and ease of construction I cant go wrong.

It's kind of discouraging to read the previous article to that one that says that the J&S Safegaurd "doesn't work terribly well" I think I'm going to go buy a whisper 2000, save myself 350$

Thats what I was thinking.

My friend has a junkyard setup on his toyota corolla. FMU and high pressure pump for fuel management. He has cracked ringlands three times this summer.

He dosn't mind too much, each piston is only 15 bucks.

Yeah i went to order right after reading the article, and ran into the same problem. If you look the article is written in 1999, which means the catalog numbers have changed since that time period. They dont seem to carry the Whisper 2000 anymore, but I am sure its available on the internet.

i ordered the kit and i have yet to assemble it. Its a great idea. Good luck hearing anything if you are at a shop with a roller dyno.

you will need some very large clips to attach that piezo sensor that they give you.

You ordered the whisper 2000 kit? And why would it not work? Snap on makes some electronic ears that work very well for this sort of thing.. They are just more expensive and lot more fancy.. they have six clamps.. So Jeff you didn't end up buying one then? If you find it please let us know.

I found the link, got the part numbers, then posted back on here. I started putting the part numbers into the website to order them and they didnt recognize them, which means they probably dont carry the items anymore.
