Which darton sleeves??? and help with build...
ok i am rebuilding the block on my B17 with some nice internals and preparing it to handle around 12-15psi daily and maybe 18 at the track with race fuel...
i have looked on the archives and talked to race engineering (john) and decided on the dartons...my question is...
which set of dartons should i go with?
i don't think i'll need the pro series as my car is a daily driven car and i read that they possibly have issues with dispersing heat on daily driven cars...
there are 3 different "levels," pro, sport, and standard...will the "sport" sleeves be sufficient for my needs??? i understand that tuning is crucial but assuming that is of an adequate level...
so far i went with the Je flat top pistons 9.2:1 compression, crower rods, arp head studs, bottom end gasket set, top end gasket set, timing belt, cometic hi-boost headgasket, anything else i need??? if not the only thing im waiting on is the sleeves once i can get them i can drop off at the machine shop...thanks...corey

Why does everyone think this? If they are installed right they shouldnt have any problem with overheating. I run mine (Darton Sleeves Mod3) daily and have never had one cooling issue.
As for the amount of boost you want to run I would consider RS, Benson, or some other open deck sleeve if you are worried about overheating. Personally I think you would be fine with stock sleeves at 12-15psi. Boosted Hybrid does it with his stock GSR block and many others have as well. Its all about tuning and cylinder pressure.

Go with the Darton MOD3's, or Pro's---whatever you want to call them. You will not have any cooling issues whatsoever. Every person I sold them too loves them........oh and the guy above me is one of my customers, imagine that.

it's the part about running more boost at the track which would be the reason id want to go with the dartons...i haven't talked to anyone about the RS or the benson so i don't know anything about them...prices??? who sells them???
