dart blocks are hardcore...dont know if you want to spend that kind of money and only run 10-15psi. I would spend the money on building your block.

It'd mount without any problems but you'd still be looking at pistons/rods. No sense in throwing stock internals in a Dart block. In that case, you'd be better off sleeving your B16 block.

Another issue with the Dart block is that they are not allowed by NHRA, not sure about the other sanctioning bodies or if competitive racing is something that would ever interest you.

Don't look for the biggest baddest parts in the land, OEM blocks work fine.

If it were me, and I was only planning on running 10-15 psi and wanted to do it as cheap as possible, I would buy a good stock gsr short block, (totally stock), and run a run a hondata that is tuned very well. You will also need to have a very efficent turbocharger and an exhaust that has no restrictions. That setup could make 350- 400 whp (12 psi or more on race gas), with no problems as long as the tune is good. Last year we made 355 hp on a 12 yr old b-16 motor (stock) with 14 psi and race gas. The car is still running today, It is a daily driven civic.

Try not to pay too much attention to PSI.

ummmm no. the blocks are made of aluminum and sleeved with Darton Sleeves. they are not allowed cause they are not factory honda blocks. nhra does not allow them, nopi does. they can be used for everyday use with ease. one of the advantages of the dart block is that all the passages (oil and water) have been opened to allow more flow.

I see a Dart block for $2047 from RaceEng on my super street magazine. it said its a assembled stroker blocks. does that mean it comes with all internals already or are they charged separately?

my buddy and i are acutally dropping a dart block into his car as son as the machine shop gets it back to us....

had a b16 sleeved, machine shop screwed up the sleeves, and bought him a dart block (this was back when the darts first came out too)

it was their first import engine, and they have a great relationship with Dart or something, so they got it for a good price for him. nice deal for him, but its taken about 1.5 years to get the engine together (local chicago machine shop, wont mention name)

One major factor to remember on DART blocks as well is that they are not completely finished when you get them. There needs to be much deburring of small chunks of metal inside here and there, and there is also sometimes **** (metal) inside pasages and what not so it definitely needs hot tanked when you get it and blown out with compressed air.

Just something to consider in the cost of the block...

Look to find a GSR short block already sleeved, I was in your exact same position, I ended up finding a GSR short block with new never used AEBS sleeves for $1100. Upgrade and sleeving all at once.
