all i did today was order my pistons, rings, head studs, and headgasket...and it was 750 bucks! damn i have to go pay for the block being sleeved and decked and all that next week. got new valves, springs, retainers on the way. still owe a little on the rods, block, and crank. i still need oil/water pump and much more. i havent even started to buy my turbo and stand alone stuff.....BUT DAMN THIS IS GOING TO BE BAD.

 

Haha, yeah, I'm over double what I thought I'd originally spend and I haven't begun to rebuild my engine!!

 

yep i know that feeling all to well. but just the tought of the finished product makes it all worth it!

 

Heh, if you think $750 is expensive, you'd better rethink going turbo.......

I originally had 3k dollars when I first planned on going turbo. Well so far, ive spent double that. still on a stock motor too! But im happy with it and i didnt go cheap on anything, got everything on group buys so it coulda been alot more.

oh yeh, and everything ive bought, half of is still sitting on the dresser. haha

haha i think most of us shot through our initial budget big time.

i had already planned a hondata setup with a DRAG 3 kit so i set aside about 4500. bought both and turned out that turbonetics was on back order. no problem, a quick call to ben and $500 more added to my credit card got me a maxrev turbo, manifold and dp.

hmm now looking for guages, why not splurge some more and get the best? $800 later, i picked up 4 defi guages. ok suspension time .. wow look at the groupbuy leo is having .. $1200 and 2 months later, zeal b2's arrived at my house. clutch time lets get ahold of viren and spend another $400. damn i need an exhaust, time to call ben again and so forth. if 2 or 3 days passed without me changing something on my car or buying something, i was suprised.

oh well it was fun for 2 months. however, credit card bills definately suck

dude, you think 750's expensive, i was just trying to aim for around 15K for everything. My bill has come to around 23K now. That is f'n expensive and i'm not even done yet. The money is driving me crazy. I'm not rich, actually far from it. My best advice, stock up on lots of ramon noodles.

 

yea cc bills SUCK, and i know 750 isn't ****, but it just seemed high for what i got, but then again look at what i got, je 10:1 pistons(i know thats high, but thats what i want), je rings, arp head studs, and comentic head gasket.

 

it is expensive, good thing i got freinds

i have spent allot of money but allot of my freinds (on here) have saved me allot of money.
