Default D16Z6 Turbo

Just trying to get some feedback on a SOHC VTEC (D16Z6) Turbo setup. This is a bone stock motor with 2.5 Exhaust and Junkyard Turbo kit. With Hondata it made 217hp and 191tq. Boost was around 9-10 psi. Just want to know if these are good numbers or average. I believe the turbo is a T3, but don't know what from. Trackmasters Tuned.

The Vtec engagement is smooth. Vtec was set to 4800. The dips you are referring to is boost spike. The boost went up to 10psi around 4200 fell back down to 9psi and then held at 9.5psi.

Ok then fix the boost spiking.. haha , you could get away with bringing the vtec in the lower RPMS. Around 42-4400.

I believe the Customer said it was a T3 off of a Chrysler. Don't know for sure though.

Hi Carlos..

So you blew your old motor and got a d16z6 with a dx tranny and you want to turbo it right???

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by 93hondaboy &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">but i wana boost my single and be unique</TD></TR></TABLE>

Its kinda hard to do unique stuff without spending alot of time and/or money.. Why not just be like alot of others and have a quick turbo car..

Hey Carlos, here's what I would do if I were you...

You said you want the "best setup", well, that really depends on your goals and budget...

I would go to http://www.turbod16.com and check out the sticky thread with the top d16 turbo dyno numbers... find some numbers that match up with your goals and learn about their setups etc... then go from there... don't copy their setups, but use the information to learn about what makes power on a d-series and then you should be better able to decide which route you want to take with your setup...

Oh, you also said you want a coupe that "tears ***"... depending on your definition of that you may be able to get there with a pretty basic setup. I am only running 7psi in my coupe and I can spin the tires through 1st, 2nd, and into 3rd if I want to...

Good luck
