Default D16y8 vitara build

Hey guys, im in the process of doing a vitara build on my SOHC and i've done some searching but just couldn't seem to find what i'm looking for. First of all, is it necessary to change out the stock rods if i'll be using 75mm vitaras? if not, how much power can these rods handle? Also, is there anything that's a "MUST DO" to have a reliable daily driver/weekend warrior type of motor?

here's a list of my current garbage setup and a list of what im trying to build

D16y8
ching chang T3/T04e
cast iron mani
DSM 440cc injectors
Skunk2 IM
6-puck clutch
7lb flywheel

future set-up (just ordered parts)

D16z6/y8 head
2bar map sensor
Skunk2 IM
DSM 440cc
Garrett GT28r
go-autoworks miniram mani
arp head studs
vitara 75mm stock bore

thanks in advance

what kind of rods are you gonna put on the vitaras you know they are a floating wrist pin and not a press fit like a stock oem rod and piston

stock rods wont work, nor can they support more than about 220ish.

problem with stock length rods is they are too short for the vitaras, and drop compression something stupid, into the 7's.. fjt makes custom length rods that solve the problem but theres a wait for them

This link will pretty much take care of all of the stuff you need. Upgrade the rods.
