d16y8 cometic HG which thickness
Current Head Gasket is leaking. I'm picking up arp headstuds and figured I should switch to a cometic HG.
I'm having trouble deciding which to get.
I know 75mm bore size but which thickness. And is ti worth getting the HP version or not?
Stock d16y8 running 9 psi. May turn up to 14-15psi in the future.
Thickness options
.040 in
.045
.051
.060
.065
.071
HP version
.054
.040
.030
I'll call cometic monday to see what they recommend. Any input tho?

Re: d16y8 cometic HG which thickness (96ex)
Use a OEM one, or stock thickness. The Y8 head has good anti-detonation characteristics (quench/sqiush area) and a thicker head gasket can potentially effect / ruin this.
~250whp seems to be relatively safe / attainable from a stock d engine evidenced by what a bunch of others are doing these days.
long story short: I'm not so sure a thicker HG will give you what you want.
