Hi guys im rebilding my D16 for A 400hp turbo setup and in looking to buy the comtique head gasket but my question is does the thickness change somthing ?

And is there a better head gasket for the price ?

OEM gasket!!.... i wouldnt mess with anything else...Ive had issues with Cometic in the past. Some people do and others don't. You can't go wrong with OEM.

If its overbored alot i would get a Golden eagle which in Essence is a OEM gasket bored out to the appropriate bore.

changing thickness can affect compression and possibly cam timing pending on how thick/thin it is from the OEM gasket. Adding thickness to a headgasket is not the right way to be trying to lower compression IMO. if youre expecting 400hp from a d seies im assuming you know that requires forged internals, and need of a big turbo to hit that # .

 

OEM or Fel Pro MLS. Never gone wrong on me ever.
