Have you tried going to d-series.org?

You'll probably get the best help there...

The problem with standard length rods and vitara pistons is that it drops the compression ratio to like 7.5 to 1 and it makes the car almost undrivable out of boost. Unless you get custom length rods you should just get off the shelf forged pistons like wiseco or CP.

Getting 300 out of a non Vtec D is going to be hard, you're more than likely going to need a cam and head work at the very least plus the built bottom end

Milling .040" quickly hikes that right up. And the car is completely driveable out of boost

i'm not a fan of the vitar setup at all.
works but far from effecient.

the last d16a6 turbo guy i talked to had miniram 57trim + rods + 10.1cr pistons + cam and was at 270whp @ +15-17psi...

300whp on stg1 cam 57trim non vtec d series... sure possible but more easily done and on less boost with z6.

YCP 75mm Vitara Pistons & Custom Length Rods Combo D16
YCP 75mm Vitara Pistons & Custom Length Rods Combo D16

Introducing the YCP and custom length connecting rods combo for all D16 applications. We have combined these popular parts into a cost saving combo. This combination of specially selected parts has been proven to hold 500+ WHP.

These I-Beam connecting rods have been custom made to work in conjunction with the Vitara pistons. They increase compression to reduce the slow spool time associated with Vitara pistons and a stock length rod.

- Block notching required*
- ~8.5:1 compression depending on head.
- 600HP Rated.
- Includes ARP 2000 3/8” rod bolts & assembly lube.
- Use with Vitara pistons only.

The P2P0 YCP Vitara pistons are custom made with friction reducing Teflon™ skirt coating. YCP makes the Vitara pistons that set the high HP records. Others may claim they have a superior piston but YCP has been proven time and again.

- Stock 2.952” PM3 diameter
- Teflon™ piston skirt coating
- Includes NPR gas nitride N-51 treated rings
- High strength AC8A grade casting
- T-6 stress relieving heat treatment
- Full floating 9310 case hardened pins

I never understood why people go to lengths getting custom rods only to use CAST pistons.
If you are building the engine for 300+, do it properly.

should i buy the cp pistons with eagle rods and keep my 9.1.1 ratio. i agreee forged rods with cast piston dosnt seem right but every one tells me vitara good for 400hp plus and there almost half the price but like you said do it properly. im shooting for 8.5.1 ratio if i use eagle rods what piston should i use?? PLEASE HELP ONE OTHER THING SHOULD I DO A GOLDEN EAGLE BLOCK GUARD OR THERE
NO POINT

custom rods bring you to zero deck and the ycp vitara with eagle rods 8.1.1cp ratio

have you ever driven a eagle vitara motor?

didn't think so....dont spread false info

my eagle vitara does just fine out of boost, feels no different than a stock n/a d-series. danz on dso or on here i think his name was welfarepc or something like that ran 10's on his budget a6 more than doable on a stock head. eagle/vitara bottom end and a stock head with properly sized turbo(aka not ebay) and you will be just fine
