Default d15b turbo SOHC

i have a question have u guys ever drove by a cop with ur turbo civic or integra n accidently make that turbo sound? N another question do u really need the blowout valve for turbo or is it just an add on? does it give u better respond or etc.
for ppl who just read this, this is a re-edit thread cuz ppl were bitching n crying saying that i made no sense earlier

Ok I think i know what your asking. When you're driving you wanna try and not let the blow off valve go off when you're by a cop. You can do this by not reving the engine up high to the point where the turbo makes boost. So if you shift around 3 grand you should be alright. If the cop hears the Blow off Valve he might pull you over if he knows what it was. When I drove my turbo civic and saw a cop i would either push the clutch in and coast by him or just keep the revs low , and shift low too. From my understanding a blow off valve releases boost preasure when you shift gears.

you really should have a blowoff valve to prevent compressor surge...that's when the air travels backwards through the turbo and makes a rattlesnake sounding noise. it's not particularly good for a turbo, so a bov is a good investment.

about the cop question. my car's been boosted for a couple years now and i've never gotten pulled over cause my car makes a specific sound. then again, i have a cutout and keep it closed most of the time.

I have been boosted for two years and never been pulled over by a cop because of the BOV or exhaust for that matter. If you're not crazy around cops don't worry about it.

Yeah, I drive by cops every day on the way to work... I drive right by a coffee shop where about 10 of them hang out every morning...

I've never had any problems and never been pulled over (since I've been boosted *knocks on wood*) but I don't go flying by cops with my wastegate wide open either...

Just act like an adult and they won't bother you...

No, but I don't see how that is very significant. Just use your brain and you won't have problems.

I've ran my DA with a horribly loud B16 for almost three years(boosted in three more weeks!!) and I've never been pulled over. Two weeks ago, my roommate borrowed the car for the first time, pulled out from our apartments onto the main road and got pulled over for exhibition of speed. LOL...he wasn't even up to the speed of the traffic before the lights came on. It all depends if the cops got a hair up his *** or not.
