Default D15 thrown rod

stock d15b2 w/d16a6 head.
evo3 big 16g @ ~12psi on turboedit.

car lasted about 1k really hard miles. learned a lot about tuning and made a ton of mistakes, im suprised it lasted as long as it did. just thought id share some of the destruction. now its time to install the built A6 block!

anyone willing to discuss their notec D series ignition timing? just like to compare. i had a homemade detcan and it sounded (for what its worth) clean. i am 100% certain the ringlands are gone too.

Dmotors throw rods by themselves so w/o more inspection you cant really say if it was b/c of the tune or hte turbo that it threw a rod.

I'll have to put up some pix of the rod my y8 threw! It cracked the piston in a U shape on both sides of the wrist pin! Too much boost blew mine up!

the motor was shot to begin with, it had like 118k miles on it. i look forward to inspecting everything. #4 punched the whole in the pan, and i think #3 smacked the oil pan a few times on the way around.

its my first blown motor so im kinda excited. minimal damage to the head so no setbacks there. working on the other bottom end now. how strongly would anyone recommend an aftermarket cam for an A6?

Nice carnage.

Time for a built bottom end?
