Default D-series Skunk2 IM

Well I acquired one of these nice lil toys from a friend of mine today. He got one in at the shop he works at and he called me. it was the first one they had gotten in. looks awesome. 62mm inlet, fat runners, big (for a sohc) plenum. and i took the time to read the instructions and realized they are awesome. even tells you the diameter AND length of the vacuum lines you need to run the manifold on the different D-series motors, comes with a paper template for some modification needed for some cars, etc. Here are a few pix...

Damn, that looks like its dented on the lower left corner of the name plate. That would annoy the hell out of me on a brand new intake to the point I would return it for another one......or maybe I'm seeing things

There is some plastic that covers the plate.
What you see as a dent is the plastic coming off the plate.

yah my friend started to pick at it before he brought it to my house. bastard. lol. the name plate isn't that lame. it's not ike a BIG thing and it's like light so it's not something that yells and screams skunk2.

What mods do you have to do for it to fit a Y8? Or is it a direct bolt in?

Just curious, how much did you pay for it?

I think it looks much better w/ the nameplate! Why would the length of the vacuum hose matter??

I'm most likely going with a GSR or ITR throttlebody. Yah the manifold is smaller compared to a sheetmetal or even the b-series skunk2 IM but remember it's for a d16 . I was looking at pix of my stock y8 manifold and this definitely looks better. It should bolt right up to a y8. the application said for 89-00 d-series basically, the 89-91's have to use the 92-95 fuel rail, but no major mods are needed otherwise from what i read. It sells for like $280-300. The length of the vacuum hose wouldn't matter but i mentioned it because it kinda shows the manual's attention to detail. i personally like the nameplate as well. it's not very flashy but it's not a plain piece of metal like the b-series one.

Only way its gonna fit in a 88-91 is if you beat the hell out of the firewall to make it fit ,its way to long,I found that out of this thread---> https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=580886 I would say its for the 92 and ups only

Do a GSR or ITR throttle body fit just fine? Is a GSR a 60 and the ITR a 62 mm?

i got mine from JR Electronics in miami on Bird road & 95th. If you want call them and ask for Yaniel 305-226-2336 or PM Fst Blk GTi on here. My friend also sells skunk2 stuff, you can PM hondadriven or http://www.hondadriven.net

Actually it'll be easier if you ask for "massive head", they'll know right away..

I have a GSR TB bolted to my stock Y8. It is 60mm, and the ITR should be 62mm I think.
