Cutting ss braided line...need help!!!
I started cutting the ss braided line that I bought for my oil inlet line, but the damn thing keep fraying. I used electrical tape, then used a dremel with a fine blade to cut through the line, but it still keeps fraying. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to go about cutting the line without having it fray on the ends?
Thanks, Jeff

alot of tape and use a good sharp saw its pretty simple. Actually. The TAPE is very key. The electrical tape is little to stick to use. Iaslo reccommend the duct tape its wide and works very well.

Nah because those saw blades dont distribute heat very well and only cut on one stroke. Portable bandsaws are the best. But if you already have something that works
Hehe my bandsaw cuts through aluminum like a wood saw cuts through wood. For mild steel I can cut straight through 3" exhaust pipe in under 10 secs.
guess you guys in the south dont have much hockey tape, its sticky. wrap that around the cut area and go thru it with a hack saw.
maybe youre trying the wrong dremel attatchment, i didnt need tape when i used a dremel, it didnt slice through it easily but the cut ended up extremely clean.

I just put a 10" metal cutting wheel on my table saw and it takes me about 5 seconds to go through a 2 1/2" mild steel exhaust pipe.
Carbide tipped? Gotta be careful to keep it sharp or it will start throwing teeth and they are expensive to replace!
At least I won't lose a finger on my saw hehe.

It cuts anything! I was cutting through 1.25" square 304 stainless bar and it cuts so fast! ahah.
