Default Custom Turbos

A friend of mine has a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant (4cyl) and he was wanting to turbo charge it. Where can he come about gathering a custom turbo. Unfortunatly, for us, there are no import performance shops in our area, so that is out of the question. Are there any places on-line that he can check out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

NO, it is actually the 2.4 liter. I am not sure of the engine code.

2000 galant use getto *** motor. The older galant liek the Vr4 use the kewl ****. Everything you would have to make is going to be cutom. I would start by finding out a place to design you a maniofld with adequate size turbo. after you done that get downpipe made for it. From there its pretty easy to make your own intercooler piping and intercooler. For fuel i am not sure what you really can do other than adjust the fuel pressure and put a good inline pump in.

This is a honda board. We really dont care much about DSM's, especially the crap ones like the galant. If he had an eclipse or talon maybe we could do something for you.
But, you might wanna check out some of the sites that build kits for the nonturbo eclipses and talons. Hahn Racecraft maybe, theres others.

Whoa dude. Listen up. Yes, this is a Honda board.. but we are still people.. dont have to discriminate. I come to this board even though I have a Saturn. The reason I visit this board (only Forced Induction) is because I like to share knowledge as well as learn from the many boosted people in here. I've met alot of nice people like MarkC, Arturbo, Dustin, VTC_CiViC, etc... you dont have to be a jerk about things man. He's just looking for help.

The fact that there are no "import performance shops" in your area tells me that you actually have a CHANCE at succeeding in your endeavors. If you can get a custom manifold sourced for the engine, you can turbo ANYTHING. If he's serious about performance he should really look into getting something like a Haltech or AEM (for Galant???) ECU that can be programmed to deal with fuel management and he can have a kick *** setup. If you band-aid it with rising rate fuel pressure regulators and add-on electronics he will probably not be happy in the long run. We can SORT OF get away with this band-aid crap in the Honda community since it's been practiced and researched so long and so many motors have been destroyed figuring out how to do it. Since the Galant will be a little more unique, standalone engine management will make life a LOT better.

Plus if he does it from the start, he can get a Haltech for like $1100-1200 and have a good shop (maybe have to leave town for a day or two) where he would be spending probably $600+ on a FMU, pump, AFC, additional injector controller, whatever he tries, and then end up paying more and more on different parts trying to get it right and never succeeding.
