i've been hearing custom turbos are very bad? why is that? arn't custom turbos just custom piping.. and well a choice of an aftermarket turbo?

 

a turbo "kit" is where it comes with all the stuff (well supposedly ) that you need to boost....like fuel pump, fuel regulator, vacuum hoses ete etc...a "custom" kit is when you just go buy all the stuff you need seperatly. If you try to build a custom kit, you best know what you are doing

 

naw man, custom turbos are prefered parts put together to make up your own kit. I put my shiz together and it runs great. For instance a kit like the drag comes with a T3/T4 and also lets say a delta gate wastegate. A custom kit we can work around a just buy the better TIAL wastegate and a different sized turbo for whatever application you are trying to create. Basically narrows down that if you dont want to put together your own stuff, they have kits already ready in a box waiting for you to assemble. Custom kits you can go through the hassle on trying to find and locate the right parts and order them seperate.
