Default custom manifold and downpipe

I was quoted $900 for a custom turbo manifold and downpipe for a t3 turbo and external wastegate. I thought this was an ok price but my friends don't seem to think so. This will be going on a honda accord f22b1 and this is the type of manifold i would want to be getting
the other thing was that my car would be in the shop for 5 days so that they can measure everything and then make it for a perfect fit. Oh and they said they needed my stock header..couldn't they just take all the measurements they need and then i can drive my car home lol, i cant be without a car for the best part of a week. How much should i be paying for mani and downpipe? and do they really need my car for 5 days?

900 bucks for a topmount and downpipe is not bad at all considering who it is being built by. also they would need to keep your car for mock up purposes to make sure all is correct

Its going to be done by garage kwai in Arlington heights IL...apparently the place where the work is going to be done is Benson's machine shop and where the do all there block work. Seriously 5 days that sucks ...i know a lot of ppl have had bad experiences with kwai but I've never had a problem and their prices have always been the best.

i don't know why your friends would say something like that. don't they know most top mount manifolds cost over 900 alone? lol

Kwai isnt bad, i had my car dyno'd there.

I would trust Whip factory over any shop in Illinois though.

You're complaining about it taking 5 days to build something? They can't just take measurements and go, they have to trial fit the manifold on the car as a step-by-step process. Borrow a friends car, take the bus, take a cab, ride a bike, or even get a rental car for a few days. And if you can't afford a 5-day downtime, maybe it's time to think about a beater because I can't say mine is always 100% reliable.
