Default Custom exhaust components...............(READ B*TCH)

I'm getting a 3" DP and fabbing my own 3" dp back exhaust, but need some help.

I'm planning on using 1 high flow (Car Sound) cat and possibly a resonator and of course a muffler. The key thing for me is SOUND: I want it as quiet as possible. Boxers are already quieter/deeper, but still.

So anyway, What cat, resonator, and muffler do y'all recommend? I've been looking at some Car Sound 3" In/Out mufflers, but there are like 6 pt#'s (55300, 93009, 95019, 95009, http://www.car-sound.com/3parts.htm) that have the same specs (As far as I can tell). Also, what about the muffler? I'd prefer a dual tip design that is QUIET. So I guess that would necessitate a big can.

Any input in appreciated.

TIA, -C

Borla makes BEAUTIFUL mufflers that love to catch sound... with the turbo, a 3" cat, and a resonator with that Muffler, you should be CLOSE to stock sound til you're getting allll over it

Personally I'd go for the 94009 or the 95009. According to Dave at SMS the larger cat's afford better flow due to more catalyst. This sounds kinda backwards, more catalyst = more flow, but look at how much area there is for exhaust flow. I know he prefers the larger 2.5" cat when setting up for the NA guys, so I would imagine the same theory applies.

hahhaha, nice quote!

I might either make the cat part of the midpipe, or make it removeable so i can put a straight pipe in for those flame-shooting weekends!

Any more muffler suggestions (I'm trying to keep costs down)?

Not a muffler suggestion but this may help you out on the cat. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cg...item=600041516

I'd also be interested in what you find out about a 3" muffler, but more importantly I'm really interested in a 3" resonator. I'm looking at fabbing up a 3" exhaust as well, but haven't found all the right parts as of yet either.

(Quoting the wife "didn't we buy this thing because it was already completely modded from the factory!!!?")
My family said something bout my car too, "We bought this car for you to drive to school, yet it spends most of the time in the garage and driven on weekends"

heh, I'm preparing for the car to no longer be under factory warranty. I figure since it's paid for I might as well have some fun with it. I'm currently collecting parts, building up a short block etc...

Some of the NA parts have been sold, others are fixing to be for sale. Currently the car is bone stock, well it's got an intake.

Thanks man! Wow http://www.roadraceengineering.com/exhaustparts.htm has almost EVERYTHING I asked for (actually, everything). The only thing I might exclude is the muffler. I might just get a universal chrome bling bling one locally. Not a flashy one, but something that I could actually put on my $27K car! I don't want it to look custom, if you know what I mean

Gracias!
