cryogenics??

Default cryogenics??

has anyone ever did this? like "freezing" an axle for example? any information out there on it? just wondering. wasn't sure what section to put this in by the way, so thought id put it here.

Its widely used in gear sets and shafts.It doesn't make things harder,just tougher.Google it,there are many places that do the process.

thank you glenn. thats what i was thinking, the shaft. so is there any downsides to this process. i have some one local that can do it, just wanted to hear some opinions and stuff.

I cryotreated my OEM valves. I honestly cant say it's worth it but from an "engineering standpoint" it was. I guess will see as I add boost pressure, meth and N20.

no offense, but i am just curious what made you cryo some oem valves over buying aftermarket ones. just wondering.

now when people cryotreat the shaft, do they also do the cv joints also?

they can do anything that is metal...when i was planning to use it they said i could send my entire tranny...it's a process that many people never try in my opinion

No offense taken. My OEM valves had about 38,000 miles on them. And the deal I was cut on cryo treating I couldnt say no.
