Default cryogenic parts?

anyone had any parts treated? I'm looking at getting my entire b20vtec done and the turbo as well. You can't get more bulletproof then a fully built engine completely cryo'd.

I wouldnt waste your money, unless you plan on cyro'ing your tranny gears.

SE-R people usually get their gears treated if they plan to put out crazy hp. From what I remember, just treating the gears alone was quite pricey. It would probably help, but not sure if you want to spend all that money.

Even at 600whp, I think cyro is a waste.

i think many people are under the false impression that once they fully build a motor using only the best parts & internals, that the motor will last a lifetime no matter what. truth is, it's still very possible for that motor to suffer some sort of setback, especially when making serious power. hell, if pro racers suffer motor failures in their drag only cars, just think about the additional stresses on that motor when placed in a heavier street car that will see many more miles...

J/K. It sounds like you have money to burn whereas my race car eats money. Always looking for money sponsors. IMHO, there are no pieces in a motor where cryo is a benefit over stronger aftermarket parts. However, some tranny pieces can benefit from cryo if they are breaking on you.

How much did each piece cost to cryo?

so are you guys cryo'ing stock parts or aftermarket parts?

And all it does is make it stronger or what?...hmm...well...would not the shape get somewhat distorted then?

I might see the use in doing the tranny/gears or whatever..but anything else really, anything that isn't taking a buttload of friction, may not be worth it...hell..I'm kinda like MugenSi00 here...I've got the money to throw down, but...look at me..I'm doubting the usefulness of it all...

I need some scientific reads on this...or at least a convincing article...any links?

I'd like to say that it makes alot of sense for racing when stock components are required (if cryo treatment isn't disallowed)...also, if you buy the very best stuff and have the cash...why not treat it? It's been pretty proven to make things better.

I am getting my block, crank, pistons, rods, valves, springs, clutch, disc, brake rotors, brake pads, and my tranny done for around $375-$400.. but after reading this post I am having a lil bit of second thoughts as my car would be ready to assemble if I wasnt waiting on the cryo guy to get back in town.. I have to wait till the 24th to get it done.. So has anyone had it done and ran a motor that can attest to the results and/or benefits?
