how much does having a cracked manifold effect spool up? how many rpm's do you lose due to having a cracked manifold?

Id worry about the crack getting larger more than loosing spool time

Not only can it hurt spool times, but it can hurt power as well.
its hard to say, did you buy a mani thats cracked?

If its just a fracture/hairline crack, you may not notice any ill effects. But that crack will only continue to grow. Any pictures? If its small you can cut a grove down the crack, clean it up and re weld it.

Just get the crack fixed...you never know what kinds of problems can occur due to it. If you had a piece of metal fall into your turbo thanks to the crack, you'd be pretty pissed. Post a pic if you can...

its a cheap ebay manifold and the crack is very big on the #1 runner.

It is true what they say about these manifolds they crack all over the place.

You might be best replacing the whole thing if its an Ebay manifold...this isn't going to be the last crack you see

well i just got the 4294 and have had the manifold for 2 yrs. Spool up is horrible with this manifold. I would not recommended it.

How much faster will the turbo spool with a twinscroll manifold?

I would think that you are aware that typically you get what you pay for, with that being said a cheap manifold that is made with cheap metal's welded and/or casted by cheap labor and sold for a cheap price is going to break long before a manifold made by decent materials welded and/or casted by a skilled fabricator that costs what a good product typically costs would (whew ), especially if it has that very heavy turbo you have in your signature hanging off of it...... I would hope that someone with a setup like yours would already know the answer to your question.

A divided manifold will spool your divided housing turbo alot faster.

not the best comparison, but on my s372r turbo, i went from a single opening top mount to a divided topmount and gained almost 1000rpm in spool time and gained power across the board. I imagine you'll gain even more.

thanks for your input man.

when i had the singlegate it seemed like it spooled up alot faster then when i added the second 38mm gate it seemed like the spool was alot slower. can this be possible?
