I didn't mean for this post to be a pro-John, pro Secret Services post LOL. It just seems to me that until you actually go through the process, it seems far under rated. But since I'm given the opportunity

We're located in St Petersburg, FL, which is near Tampa, Clearwater, and about an hour away from Orlando. If you guys ever need anything, the number to contact is 727-571-1450, but because I'm so busy sometimes I may be hard to get ahold of. If there is to be race gas tuning, I do charge more, as the race gas is very abusive to the oxygen sensor. I charge an additional 50/hour of race gas useage.

Glad to see such positive feed back from this post!

Pensacola is about 6 hours from here, it's quite a haul. Rarely do I ever make it up that way.

And any of you TX people that want my services, TX is my favorite vacationing spot, so if you want to give me some vacation time, I'll gladly work it off.

John anyone who thinks 300$ for hondata install and tuning is expensive obviously hasnt gotten a price qoute anywhere else. I know a guy locally who paid 1300$ for his hondata install and tuning. not including price of the unit. ****, 300$ is beyond a bargain. ITS A STEAL!

I think you ought to point out the gains seen in tuning alone.

Slapping on my kit only got me 205hp/223ftlbs at 10 psi. At the end of my tuning session I was at 238hp/243ftlbs at 10psi. Could have even yielded more if I had more than a VAFC.

33hp gain for $200 worth of tuning.

Show me a $200 investment that yeilds that kind of gain.

Great post.

Wish you could have tuned my car!

I took mine to payn tech in michigan to get my hondata tuned. (10 hour one way drive)

They charged $140 hour, and tuned for about 2 hours. I didn't get any street tuning cuz Tom said I didn't need it. I asked about why the car wasn't going into open loop, and Tom said the car just needed to run for a while longer.

Well, it never ever went into open loop, I think if he had street tuned it, there wouldn't have been a problem, but I wasn't about to drive 10 hours again for some street tuning.

I got a conservative tune, and it was on a Mustang Dyno, so at 10psi, b16a, and drag 3 kit I saw 210 whp. I was definitly hoping for more, but from what I was told the low numbers are from the mustang dyno just reading less then a dynojet dyno.

My next setup is going to be tuned by me....sure would be nice to have a GOOD tuner nearby. Even a couple hours away wouldn't be bad.

someone who can afford to buy a stand alone better not bitch about dyno/tuning costs at all. Tuning is an art that is worth every penny when done correctly.

indeed, don't let my post fool you into thinking that there are only a few good tuners out there. In fact, there are many, some known, some lesser known. I'm not sure where I fall in there, as the only advertising we do is word of mouth. But tuning is definately part art, part science, and part good guess work. Experience and a willingness to learn are very important traits to look for in a dyno tuner. Best advice I can give you for those not willing to buy me a plane ticket is to get lots of references, and if the tuner is good, and yet not familiar with your specific motor, make sure he knows the safety limits of your motor, and any hints you can give him are always helpful
