I can't tell you if it will leak but 110 ft lbs on the head bolt torque is too much. 70 is about right. You could warp the head torquing it that much.

apply a super thin coat of hondabond or permatex ultra grey around every passage on the head and block that coolant goes through. use two coats of copper seal on both sides of the head gasket. torque to 76 foot pounds. works great for me.
well im using a 350 head bolt the block was retapped there was no head studs for the h22 at the time so i didnt go no more than that do you think it will be fine its oringed and i sprayed both sides with copper coat if it leaks i think i was going to use the factory head gasket or the stell but man i dont want it to leak i hope it should hold
i'm not sure if will leak or not. i was told by an old school racer to put some type of gasket maker around the coolant before installing the head to reduce leaking coolant when using a copper head gasket. i have done this from day one and have had no problem so far.
so before i get it tuned do you guys think i should take that copper gasket off and use a diffrent one because i rather do it now before i send it to get tuned what would you recomend any help i need to know soon because the day is coming for dr. bob norwood to tune the motec and i need it right and not have any problems what you guys recomend for a oringed head please healp all the turbo guys that are engine builders tony art etc etc.....
110ft lbs of tq on the head is way over tq'd. with arp studs it should be 80-85ftlbs.so you are using a stock headgasket with just copper spray right?? what kind of o-ring are you using, copper, stainless?? you say the head is ringed. is there a receiver groove in the head or is the block o-ringed??

motormatrix man im sorry i forgot ask you **** i wasnt thiking im sorry any ways look i have a copper head gasket with copper spray on both sides 2 coats on both sides on the oring i ringed just the head not the block no recieving groove in the block what is a good head gasket im ready to finish this head gasket **** once and forall before bob norwood tunes it its never been started on this fresh block please help anyone
I have no experience with the o-ring in the head to be honest. our h22 race car has no o-ring at all and never popped a gasket at 26psi and 689whp. My opinion is run a stock gasket and use copper spray and 85lbs of tq on the studs. thats what works for me. make sure the 0-rings are copper not stainless. if they are stainless you may have to run the copper gasket. I had pretty bad luck with stainless o-rings. my next block will not run o-rings. they are more headache then good I think.
so i need to find out if there stainlees or copper rings if so stainless should i back off the the bolts and retourqe them to like 85ftlbs or just leave it and if there copper im deffinatly taking out and putting a stock headgasket in thanks motormatrix
Hey buck, i'm pretty sure you've got 1/2" studs, so you're ok on the torque. I use copper orings and stock headgaskets. If you do use a copper gasket then you HAVE to use steel orings, but i've never had good luck with that setup. The stock gaskets are proven...
tony i will have to call and ask bob wht oring i have because man i hate for it to leak when you get it i had prob with them before so i if have steel oring can i use a stock with it too or know i can only use a copper with the steel because i need to change it what tourqe do i need to go if i use a stock gasket
