COP what fits on a B-Series engine
Hallo,
i'am thinking of switching to a COP system on my B16 Turbo and i'am currently looking for COPs which will fit into the Spark Plug holes from a B16/B18 engine.
I will not run CDI, so the pencil coils from i.e. AEM will not work...
but the system i will eventualy use, is able to control COPs with internal ignitor as well as COPs with direct coil control.
It would be nice if someone has some COP models, maybe from other OEM engines which will fit from their outer dimensions and which will work with the normal NGK spark plugs as well (so no exotic motorcycle COPs)
Best regards

Re: COP what fits on a B-Series engine (mrx)
i use the cbr coils from a 600. But i have a motec ecu, and it allowes me to use a bosch ignitor, without a cdi box. I do not think this will work on aem coils,or aem ecu.
But the main differences between aem and cbr coils, is that CBR coils you have a VERY limited selection of spark plugs, aem coils, you can still use regular plugs. The difference is that the cbr coils, you have to have the kind of plug that the tips can unscrew from. The aem ones, you do not, you can use regualr "ball" style tips like oem plugs.
