Cooling problems with turbo B series

I plan on making my shroud out of aluminum. It's a good chance to do some trick tin work in the engine bay
My only concern is that depending on intercooler proximity to the shroud could impede airflow through the front mount. So I'll either louver the area behind the intercooler or drill holes and dimple die them (help keep the panel more rigid against the airflow pushing against it, might do some in strategic places to prevent bowing and allow airflow around the turbo and manifokd) to allow uninterrupted airflow through the core.
Since I have a 97 ex coupe I'll be placing the air filter for the turbo behind the upper grill and make sort of an airbox that seals against the motor to trap all that cold air around the filter/form a small ram air effect at higher speeds. I'll also run the intake piping through the shroud, welding it to the shroud to support the assembly. Thus insuring I not only have maximum airflow through the intercooler and radiator but that the motor gets the coldest intake air possible. Might also ceramic coat it to prevent radiant heat from the manifold, turbo, radiator, and intercooler from heatsoaking the panel and in turn my intake air
My night vision camera and ir blasters will also be mounted behind the grill so I've got to get creative

I've been fighting an overheating issue while driving for more than 10 mins in-town or on the highway (especially). I was able to compensate for the high ECT's while highway driving by increasing the stall speed so that the fan is on all the time while driving.
The ECT's were hitting 235 deg F with the stall speed set to 35mph and crusing at 60 to 65 mph over a 20 mile highway drive. It would have gotten hotter had I not stopped.
On the return trip, I set the stall speed to 65mph. The ECT's stayed between 190 to 195 deg F at 60 to 62mph. When I cruised at 65mph+, the ECT crept up to 202 deg F before I slowed down and watched the ECT's fall back to 192 deg F.
I haven't found the new stall speed, but maybe I'll experiment enough to find it one day.
I'm using a Full-Race 8" backdoor intercooler and it takes up the majority of the air dam inlet area. So, the problem really just ends up being a lack of air flow in front of the radiator. Whether I have the other half blocked off or a diverter plate to funnel air directly to the radiator, I bet I would still overheat while cruising since I probably don't have much coming in. I'll probably wall off the radiator anyways to see if it helps more, but for now, the issue is solved.

Why shut the fan off at all, if it keeps the car cool? My fan runs all the time from 175 or 180 car never sees over 190ish! I love it! I would rather have my fan run none stop then over heat! Good luck dude!
