compression test questions and results
i did a comp test yesterday when the car had been sitting for about and hour and a half so it wasn't at operating temp. i got varying results. 182,190,200,195. i put some oil in the cylinders to see if the comp raised and they did. today, i did a comp test at operating temp and my numbers were almost 200 across the board. i drove it about 10-20 miles since adding the oil. do you think my numbers were wrong the first time being that it wasn't at operating temp or do you guys think i still have oil in the cylinders making me think my numbers are ok.
the oil was probably gone within a few seconds of the engine running.. your supposed to measure compression when the engine is warm i believe..
