Default Compression Ratio?

Currently im at 9.8:1 According to http://www.c-speedracing.com

USDM B18C1 block, with USDM B18C1 Pistons, and a B16/ITR cylinder head. With stock 0.029" Headgasket. ~9.8:1

I plan to run a cometic HG, thickness 0.074". This will bring my compression down to about ~8.9:1 CR

This will be a stock block setup, tuned by me. Im sure this lower compression will help myself out with tuning this.. Correct? It will see fairly low boost 7-8psi daily.. and around 10-11psi at the track.

How does this setup sound?

I'm using the same .074 cometic in my otherwise stock B16 (aprrox 9.2:1)..... a lower compression ratio doesn't make it "easier" to tune really....but it gives you a little more room for error...i assume you have some sort of wideband 02 sensor?

On the negative side, using the thick head gasket takes away all the quench of that engine plus it throws your cam timing off about 3 degrees. You must correct that by using adjustable cam gears.
