Complete greddy turbo kit?
Hi, I just bought a 97 civic ex from a friend for $500 dollars. It has 120,000 miles on it but it is a one owner. Its stock but I wanna make it go a bit faster, at least make it hit high 14's low 15's on the quarter mile. I believe it is the d16y8. What do you guys think about the complete greddy turbo kit for 1500 bucks? It comes with the following...310cc injectors, 18g turbo, turbo filter, oil lines, turbo manifold, and the e-manage. I dont really have the money to tune it so thats the main reason why I wanna go with this kit, I have a budget of 2000 dollars. What do ya'll suggest me do with the extra 500 bucks I will have left over? I was thinking a complete Front Mount Intercooler? What do ya'll think? Oh and the car already has a Tsudo 2.5" cat-back system. Think this oughta get this 500 dollar civic hitting what I wanted to hit?
Oh and I wanna keep my ac and power steering so when I take my girlfriend out, she doesnt like to drive around in a hot car!!!

It be an honor if you would name down the main things I could get with there price tag on the side, Im totally new to this and I really wanna learn whats up. And wont I have to build the engine as well if I want to tune it or at least pistons, head studs, and stuff like that?

Yeap, you can still keep a/c as long as you get the right turbo manifold. And for your 14s & 15s in 1/4 mile, stock motor is fine. Maybe invest in some ARP head studs. Heck, sohc vtec can do 12s-13s easily in 1/4 mile in a bone stock motor.

That's what i did and was able to keep my a/c and p/s. Used name brand parts, mostly used and some new. Half of the parts I got here from vendors and people selling the parts they didn't want. Total spent was about $1300 for all parts, $300 for a tune and $400 for a clutch and flywheel package.
read some of the items in the FAQ at the top of the forum. That at least gets you familiar with many of the terms and products out there so when you go to the marketplace or wherever you are looking for used stuff, then you can feel confident with your choices. Maybe even spot something that might not work. Take your time and you'll have a masterpiece at the end.
I have the greddy kit for sale soon, but it is for the B series, more specific the B16. It's a great way to start.

Alright sounds good, but does it matter that my motor already has 125k on it? Oh and my friend is selling me a stage 1 exedy clutch kit/7lb fidanza lightweight flywheel, all for 200 bucks. Are those good brands and will that be good enough for the 200hp Im seeking for or would I need like a stage 2 or 3? What do ya'll think?
Oh and what will I need for tuning it after the setup is in? I heard of hondata or something like that? I think my car comes with an OBDII so what will work for that under my budget? I think Im extending my budget to 2500 anyway.
What about for the tuning? What should I use to tune it? I heard of something called hondata or something like that? What will be the best under my budget? Oh I think IM extending my budget to 2500 anyway.
