Comparing two fuel setups....Need Input
I'm debating the following fuel setups, both involving the S-AFC.
*Apex'i S-AFC, 310cc injectors, Vortec FMU w/ 8:1 disk, inline fuel pump
-or-
*Apex'i S-AFC "hack", 450cc dsm injectors, resistor box, inline fuel pump.
What are the pros and cons of each setup? thanks.

As much as everyone knocks the SAFC/FMU setup I personally like it a lot. You don't have the surging issues that you do have with the AFC Hack. As long as you set your AFC up properly on a dyno it will run IMO just as good as any hack w/o the daily drivability issues.

Your fuel delivery for you car is not something that you want to go the cheap route when it comes to FI. I would suggest a SMC w/ 450cc injectors and some dyno tunning.

Well the AFC has more tuning options then a SMC so thats a plus. The AFC/FMU combo does run very rich untill you dyno it and get the daily driving proporties setup but after that its awesome IMO. The AFC hack I have found is harder to get the partial throttle setup right w.o surging.. This is just what I have found personally - there are a lot of other things I have heard about good and bad for all three setups.
What would you suggest for a new turbo user who is learning about tuning and so forth? Would a hondata/EMS setup be too complicated ot start off with or should the novice (me) start off with a piggy back fuel controller and standard boost contoller?
So, you're saying the afc + fmu is more driveable than the afc hack? anyone have opinions on this?
I like the fmu setup, it's what i run. Vortech 12:1, 255 intank, 440's, missing link, safc. 10psi=326hp and 221ft lbs to the wheels on pump gas. Been driving it for over 7months and 10kmiles and haven't had a problem yet.

3 out of 4 friends that run the hack have their car out of comission due to fuel problems, i say that's a little problem with the hack over the afc/fmu setup.

I went fmu and vafc, it sucked. Now I go HOndata and love it.
BDTURBO - I like my gtech alot. Havent used it in months tho. I ran it when I went to the track once, it was less than one hundreth of a second off my time slip. It calculates trap speed differently tho.

fuel is dependent on the FMU. not really tunable. What are you going to use the S-AFC for?

i'd like to know the same, considering my car was dyno tuned using a safc. I run a 12:1 fmu, 440's, safc, 255lph intank and missing link. You can tune using the safc on a car running an fmu.
