Default comment on my compression please

200 across , cranked it like 5-6 times

compression seems to be too low for a B18C right ?

Nope. Right on the money. You will probably not see anything higher than 215 ever, so 200 across is good. Start seeing 150 and you got problems.

if you have lower compression pistons, does it affect compression testing at all?

Am I doing something wrong?

Did you disable the fuel system before you did the compression test? This could cause you to get false reading's, cause the injectors are still dumping fuel into the cylinder.

low compression will give you lower numbes..

i had 10-1 stock and got 200-220

and

now i have 8.5-1 and get 180psi in all cylinders

low numbers or numbers that vary indicate worn rings....

so if the injectors still pumping fuel into the cylinders , will it get higher reading or lower reading ??

thanks

190 across the board for me.
Somewhat low for a GSR but......Stock bottom end with 65k, 3 15lb bottles of NOS, and the last 20k with a S/C at 8lbs.....

Say you find one lower than the others. I know piston rings is first culprit, but could there be a valve issue instead?

You guys are neglecting to mention the variance between gauges.

My B16A2 showed anywhere from 200 to 225 psi on every cylinder depending on which compression gauge I used (Sears, Matco, Snap On)
