Default clutch lasted a week on a boost

Everyone kept saying my stock clutch would be done for, i was hoping to get a month out of it... well its already slippin after a week of hard boost. Never bought a clutch before so i'm not sure what i should get. Immediate goals would be 300whp on b16a daily driven in a city. So i want something thats not gonna be too harsh to tear apart my tranny/axles, but i'm not a ***** and dont mind a stiff pedal.

should i be looking for a disc or like a sprung 6 puck? Leaning towards act after searching the archives and reading reviews. Kindly recommend me some setups for my car

Thanks guys

Well, I got a ACT HDSS like 2 years ago. Sprayed 75 shot on that for about a year. Then went turbo and its still grabs pretty hard. It will slip with the radials from a dig and 5k launch. Gotta love the smell of burnt clutch

how much do you want to spend? if you are willing to spend about 1100-1200 then I would say get the Exedy Hyper single clutch with the flywheel..... you will never need another clutch after that one

Yea i'm def poor, and i need to pick up a hondata as well. So i'm trying to keep the clutch under $400 if i can. I want something thats gonna last 10k++ miles.. I read that the wear life on the cm stage 4 and 5 is compromised, also some complaints about the xtss holding

Since your gonna make less torque than a b18, ACT Street Disc w/ xtreme pressure plate should hold 300whp and around 220-230tq. I just bought one for my soon to be boosted gsr. Engagement is stiffer than stock and I have a light chatter. If i were to do it all again (but I have different power goals 400whp) I would go with something like Exedy Twin plate (or something that holds more power) and sacrifice some pedal feel. Holds more power and you don't have to worry about maxing out the power for it right away.

clutch specialties hyperclutch from heeltoe

I got a stage 3 HD pressure plate sprung 6 puck for less than $300. Go to heeltoeauto.com and you can build clutch to your own specifications for a good price And Marcus was very easy to deal w/ and extra fast shipping

I HIGHLY recommend clutchnet http://www.clutchnet.com I have the stage 3 on my boosted b16 and its great.

You can order a clutch 'special' and get one for a civic (cheaper) just get it for a b16 if you are b powered

ACT xtss... has worked for over 1.5 years for me and I beat the **** out of my car daily. I dump the clutch from the rev limiter when I am at the track on slicks, I power shift, I do burnouts, etc... it still grips like it was brand new.
