clutch explosion
I am currently builing a Ls/vtec powered 4th gen civic with completly built motor and a custom rev hard turbo kit and a direct port n2o set up. I am planning to put a lot of power to the ground and I was wonedering what kind of damage is done to the transmission and block when the clutches explode? thanks for the help and if anybody has any pics of a exploded clutch just so that I could see the extent of the damage i would appreciate it.

I don't think the actual clutch can explode. I have heard of those ultralight flywheels shattering. They basically shred the tranny and basically everything in the way, as shards of metal fly away at 8000 or so rpm. Not pretty.

Re: clutch explosion (10sec.civic)
never heard of exploding clutches dude...but they will wear quicker and lead to big time slippage....as far as thje gear box and the other parts, well lets just say that your clutch will die long before the rest of the car does...
