Go out to some place like Target or Home Depot and get yourself a one-gallon of concentrated Simple Green. You then mix this up with 50 percent water. It'll be enough for your lifetime unless you use it to clean other stuff, which I do. Well, just spray it into your engine bay and let it soak and sit for about 10 minutes, then bust out the toothbrush and start cleaning the hard to reach spots. After that get a cloth/towel and start wiping down other parts of the engine. It'll take a while to do. Try to avoid electrical areas especially the distributor. And if your engine is in really bad shape/oily/dirty, you might want to rinse with simple green and water and then apply more to wipe off dirty areas. Good luck!

I talked to a friend a few days ago and he told me he ran all his wires threw the wheel well. He had to sodier every single wire then use heat shrink. he told me it took him about 4hrs to complete all of this. It may look clean, but I dont like the way it looks.

good question
first use H2O....you can buy it at any 7-11 they sell it in bottles of 8oz. all the way to 2 gallons.

and then use ... well they this stuff http://www.armorall.com/index1.html

or goto pepboys or autobarn and get something. i am sure you can get a sales person to help you. they are nice there, and very smart
