Checking my bore: Is this gauge ok?
http://www.harborfreight.com/c...94873
Are the anvil sizes ok for checking the bore of my A6? (75mm)
Is it a good buy all in all? I've never bought engine machining tools before...

You'd probably be better off using a pair of good vernier calipers than that. A good, accurate dial bore gauge costs a little more than $99!
that is the bore gauge that i used to measure my z6 75.5mm and my tuner has used to measure multiple blocks. that is much more accurate than vernier calipers. the bore gauge is accurate to +/-.0002" and calipers are only acurate +/_.001".

That's not the point. Well I understand what you mean by being accurate for a reading. But even if it is off, it will still be off by say the .0004'' the whole way down, if there is an inconsistency, it will show it.
