Default Check out my new CHEAPTURBOdotCOM Turbo

EDIT: I left off the word "turbo" from the title.. oops

Freshly rebuilt Turbonetics t3/to4b s-trim w/ .63 a/r stg 1 clipped.
First off, I have a few questions..

1.) What's the advantage (or reason) for having a clipped wheel?
2.) What's the s-trim?

Now on with the pics:

What does this # mean?!?!

the clipped wheel is the cheap way to basically increase your turbine size, it lets the exhaust side flow better with the expense of spool time

the s trim refers to your compressor..
here is a map http://www.majesticturbo.com/20330.html
it flows 37 lbs/min

So would this turbo be as good or better as a t3t04e?

How do I figure out how much air my motor uses/needs at 8100rpms?

I just plotted my #'s using BlueSi2k's turbo sizing utility, and it looks like this is the perfect turbo for me.

Pressure Ratio: 1.578
Air Flow: 21.5lbs/min (at 7psi)

Infamous is more like it...

Hey, why does your calculator get a runtime error (Type Mismatch) when I raid the underhood air temp?

BlueSi2k
there are some bugs in the utility
(changing the temperatures causes 'Run-time error 13': Type mismatch')
other than that its pretty good
he still got a good grade on that project anyway

sorry about the error...i made that quick i dont know whats up w/ it. Wasn't for a class or anything, just made it for the h-t guys. Maybe when i get time ill make one w/ built in compressor maps that plots for you, that would be cool.

It would be even cooler if I could raise the air temp... since it's consistantly hotter than 85 here in sunny Florida (bleh )

It is .70...I just hit the 6 instead of the 7 by mistake I guess. Sorry folks.

so if its a 60-1 why is the wheel a 6 blade, and if its a hifi housing why is it a .70 a/r?

A 60-1 is a 7 bladed wheel and a hifi is a t04e .60 a/r housing. Maybe i am missing something or looking at something incorrectly
