i was wondering what some of you thought of those $600-$700 tubo kits on ebay? its for a b16a crx

 

i had one on my car when i first bought it... it was the biggest pile of crap i had ever seen

turbo blew after 2k miles

the wastegate stopped working very shortly after that

any manifold other than a cast log is guaranteed to break quickly as well


DONT BUY IT!!! your just gonna spend more money replacing the broken parts might as well save and get a good kit

 

It doesn't cost much more to get a quality turbo. Precision just released their entry level 5431B turbo. Its a 48lb compressor and should be able to make about 480hp. That turbo is only $599. No need to get a cheap knock off turbo.

 

i figured they were junk... where would i find the link for the precision turbo?

i had one when i first entered the turbo world.and yes it was a little shitty. but i made it work. the manifold kept cracking. i rewelded the whole thing with 3path's over each weld.and i went to a junk yard. and got a gerrett t3 60 63 turbo.you can find these on old 4cyl turbo thunderbird's. put that on there. and i ordered silicone coupler's and t-bolt clamp's. then it was good to go....but it was a bit of work...
