Default Cheap Performance CV shafts?

I am looking for a new set of CV shafts for my 01 GSR. What is the best deal for these? I don't have a lot of cash to spend so please something reasonable. I plan on putting down 400Hp with my setup but that will only be on the dyno. Daily driving I will have the boost much much lower. Let me know.

DSS stage 1 axles will work great if you are putting down 400whp on an open differential. I have a set for sale if interested. Brand new, 275.00 + shipping. Pm or email if interested.

Nope, selling my FI stuff that i have for now and redoing my entire set-up. I already have my built 2.0 block waiting to be installed, and my quaife should be installed by the of next week. I am moving out in two weeks, so I dont have to deal with my father anymore.

dont mean to nit pic but how would stage 1 axles which are rated at 225 hp help him if he plans to put 400? he would snap those just like stock ones (not as easy but he should). And anyone with 400 hp on an open diff is either crazy or doesnt like traction

Either spend the money on the stage 2 or 3 (new design) axles or buy the oriely axles and if you hook up prepare to be on a first name basis with them as you will be getting a new axle from them often (depending on how much you race with slicks)

I choose the oriley way

You're still running stock axles right?

Have you seen the prices on those? Even at cost they're rediculous, and still remans.

I have the local axle rebuilder reuse my OEM shafts. I dunno how well that's going to hold up to 400hp - I'm at 200 and it works fine for me.

Most of the aftermarket axle shafts undergo pretty crappy QC. I've seen a number of them splinter or snap in powerful 80hp rides, like the fearsome Mazda 323 or Toyota Corolla, due to the shafts being over hardened. They just become brittle pieces of ___.

I'd like to hear a more detailed opinion from nineseccrx... pls.

Well DSS site claims 400 hp on an open diff, I am not claiming anything. I upgraded to the stage 5 axles/hub combo awhile ago just to avoid any headaches.

Orielys Auto Parts or Autozone I think has them also, they are just remanufactured but are covered by a lifetime warranty. they are around $120 but you get $60 or so back when you bring in the old axle.

not anymore, but I only owned one set of axles. They were in the car and I never broke them on my old setup. Fit super good and seemed to be super strong.
