Default Ceramic Coating

Anybody ever used that spray on ceramic coating stuff? I tried using it on my dumptube and it didn't turn out so well. I put on 3 coats, let it dry completely, heated it at 250* for 30 minutes, let it cool, heated it at 400* for 30 minutes, let it cool, and then heated it at 550* for 30 minutes and then let it cool. After taking it out of the oven for the 3rd time the coating started flaking off when i picked it up. I followed the directions so what did i do wrong?

yea your right. I just degreased and used some sand paper...of coarse it already had paint on it that didn't work out because it wasn't high temp enough. You think i should remove all of the old paint first? Sorry i don't really know **** about painting .

i would, but the only reason i did this is to keep it from rusting. I couldn't find any decent regular paint that was high temp enough.

go find someone with a media blasting cabinet. work it over real good in the cabinet. take it out and wipe it down with acetone or brake cleaner.... wear gloves while doing all of this, you dont want the oils from your skin getting on the part. then hang it up from one end, clean it one more time then apply the coating
