CELL 45 & CELL 71-74
so i finished my apexi turbo install on my d16 yesterday, using the hack with -35 across the board, also bpcpr7es -11 (think thats it, 2 steps colder) plugs gapped to .03, so i start the car and its all good, drove around for about 20 min, took a break cleaned the mess and drove down to see the gf, 35 min, still no probs, then drove to a party, 20 min or so, so after the party i goto start my car (takes a lil while cuz the of the hack) and right then a there the cel comes on, so i drive neway, and when i get back home i check it out and it gives me cell 45, and 71-74, now could i had misfires in all 4 cylinders, now the thing is i have a button you have to push to start the car, clutch interlock rewired to hidden button, while i was starting it slipped off my finger couple of times meaning it would crank with fire, then no fire then fire, etc then finally started
also i checked the plugs, the electrode tip is whitish color, but the metal that surrounds the tip and porcelain, the one that the electrode is connected to is a dark black color , now is it white cuz im too lean, (-35 across the board) or is this normal looking when u put brand new plugs in, also my egt reads about 900-1000 degrees farenheit in boost and about 1100 or so cruising 5th gear 60 mph, btw the egt probe is in the 3rd runner, isnt that too cold, shouldnt i be int the 1200 range, not sure, oh and boostin bout 6 psi
ne help or advice, oh yeah 2000 civic ex, so from what i read obd2.2
sorry for the long post, just trying to give as much info
thanks,
chris

Re: CELL 45 & CELL 71-74 (vha27)
exact same thing is happening to me. I finished my install yesturday and took it for a drive. No problems. Then I removed everything today to fix a few exhaust leaks and after I started it up and drove for about 3 minutes, I thew codes 71-74. I'm using the map limiter, which is very similar to the hack. Anyone know what could be wrong with out setups?

Re: CELL 45 & CELL 71-74 (swrdply400mrelay)
im running the walbro 255 lph fuel pump and the dsm 450cc's, see the plugs look white so i think lean (unless it suppose to be that color after u put new plugs in, well it like a light white coating) but my egt temp seems low,a t least from what ive read
oh yeah , why is it exactly hard to start with the hack, is it cuz its too rich from the injectors and pump, or to lean from the vafc setting (-35 across the baord)
oh yeah its the apexi turbo kit
thanks,
chris

Re: CELL 45 & CELL 71-74 (swrdply400mrelay)
regular pump, im thinking maybe it was a one time deal when i started the car, due to me pressing and unpressing the clutch interlock, ive got auto class today, pretty sure the instructor has a obd2 reader, well see what the exact conditions were when it happened
so why is it hard ot start the car with the hack, is it the injector size plusfuel pump or me being to rich/lean with the vafc (-35 all around)

(440cc)
1-4k -40%
4.5k -38%
5k -36%
5.5-7k -35%
Try these settings; I saved these and these were what Dave (vtc_boostless_civic) used on his GReddy kit and 3" exhaust. You may even want to trim a couple of more percentage points at 1k since you're using 450's and stock injectors are 240cc.
