Catch Can Info
ok so 've been searching, but i am still not understanding what the purpose, benefits, and disadvantages of the catch can are.
as i understand it, there are two points where the can can be applyed. the crankcase and at the valve cover.
now i understand some of the purposes, 1. to catch oil if there is a rollover and blowbye.? not sure of the rest...
and why do people choose between a catch can or a small filter at the valve cover?
why is the valve cover line routed back into the intake before the TB when the car is stock? i've read that the oily gases help seal up the engine and benefits emissions. so would i be doing harm if i just filtered it on my n/a?
sorry for the newby style post. i just need some assistance.
big thanks

Re: Catch Can Info (CRX T-Si)
that was very helpful actually. but now im actually having more concerns regarding my setup.
im running a b18b1 1994... and as far as i remember, the breather outlet on the valve cover had a rubber line connecting to a mounted metal tube, which then ran to the intake pipeing just before the throttle body. Am i correct?
after replacing my intake pipe with an aftermarket one, i believe i reconnected that breather outlet directly to the inlet tube pre-welded on the intake. was that a mistake? am i letting in too much oil vapor and dirtying up the whole head assembly? i've seen alot of n/a g3's that have a little filter there instead. is that bad also?
im very concerned could someone please enlighten me. much appreciated.
