Okay, I started her up this morning and it started but it was really rough and then it suddenly died on me. But when i was attempting to idle it took my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling, but then it just suddenly died and I haven't been able to fire it back up again. when I do turn the key, it just keeps making the normal sound of trying to start but it doesn't turn over or anything. I need some serious help please!!
garrett t3 turbo, h22a1, jrsc fmu, bosch inline, check valves, It's wierd, cuz it has never had a problem starting before but just yesterday it had difficulty starting and I had to step on the gas to keep it idling and it was super rough
oh yah and another thing, The batt has 12V and it makes the usual sound as if it is going to start but it never fully turns over. I have gas in the tank. Only think I noticed is that I took off the cap and there is a bit of carbon on the electrodes. I filed those down and still no start up. Also, I took off the wire going from the coil to the cap and it zapped me when I someone cranked the key, so I know there's a spark going to it, but I did notice that when I took each of the plugs on the cap, there was no spark coming out from the cap.
My car had a similar problem where it would turn over like it wanted to start, and almost did start, but never actually did...
It ended up being the distributor, so you might want to check that out if you haven't already...

yah, like I said, i checked the dist. and when I unplugged the wire from the coil to the cap, I got a nasty shock when it started up!! haha, but when I plugged it back in and unplugged one of the four wires, I didn't get any spark coming out at all. As well, there's carbon build up on the electrodes but I filed it down so I'm not sure if that's the problem or notMy car had a similar problem where it would turn over like it wanted to start, and almost did start, but never actually did...

Oh yah, I also tried to start it while in gear and it didn't even move an inch when I turned the key
I've actually flooded my car with my 450's and an effed up AFC. maybe you did something similar (similar scenarios). either that or I'm calling distributor. ( do you have spark at the plugs?
good luck.
good luck.

How can I check spark at the plugs? I did check spark at the cap where the wires that go to the plugs plug into. Does that make any sense?I've actually flooded my car with my 450's and an effed up AFC. maybe you did something similar (similar scenarios). either that or I'm calling distributor. its just my bad luck. got the clutch installed a week ago. drove 70 miles. Car violently over heats. bring the car to the shop. mechanic trys to start my car and finds out my alternator is fried. what else can go wrong.
was it still turning over like it was gonna start? That's shitty man

nope, just a little click. and thats all. I found out the alternator busted because after charging the battery back up it would not hold its charge while idleing.

Okay, I'm hoping this is different than mine, cuz my battery is holding 12V right now. Just won't bloody turn over!!!! but like I said, I'm hoping that it's just the cap and rotor. They do look worn down, so I'll go buy a new one tomorrow.nope, just a little click. and thats all. dude i had the same problem! the thing is.. i got my car to start when i replaced my rotor and disconnected my msd. the problem i have now is bogging. it bogs like crazy and i cant drive my car home.
finally! Got the car running. Turned out to be a possible combination of problems. Firstly as I have posted earlier, someone broke into my car and while fixing it, I kept turning on the car and what not, but not actually starting it. My fuel pump would constantly keep going. In addition to this, the constant times I tried to start it must have added to the drenched plugs. So I cleaned those. On top of that, I noticed that the cap was really worn down on the spring moutned electrode. Changed that out as well and voila! Instant start! So I'm very glad. Have turned it off and on a few times just to make sure. Also just wanted to say thanks for all your help guys!
