I'm sick to my stomach....

I went out to my car tonight at 4am to go into work and there was no car!
This is a rarity in this area (Ithaca NY) for stolen cars. It was probably towed right out from my driveway while we were sleeping.

see my description in case anyone sees it around, It noticeable although a bit of a sleeper,
black with yellow runner panels and front underskirt.

i let the police know about recent contacts with people who's cars I have tuned and they will be investigating. I'm sure it was someone from that group since no one really knows my car other than you folks here and those whose cars i've tuned. Since I do all my own work, no one in this area really knew what was under the hood.

MAN not you! this sucks, it allmost makes me wish that this wasnt my hobby. Im sorry man and i hope the police find some leads.

After coming from a race event from Baytown (Houston) last Oct. 15, I woke to see my car missing. Luckly we found it ariund the corner. They could'nt get it started so they pushed it. A firend of mine put my steering column and alarm back together and said they were amatures and that he could have gotten away with it. I was like DAMN! He used to steal cars and one thing he told me, as well as others I have met, is to buy Autolock (i think that's the name). it's like the club although you lock your accelerator pedal or clutch pedal. My friend told me that even when they did get into cars and they see that they give up on taking it. I believe he said it was made out of cast iron, and it was in a difficult area who would spend the time torching the thing away! I plan on getting one when I get my car back. But man sorry to hear it though. That's one of the worst fellings you could ever experience when you see somthing you worked and spent so much time on gone!

sorry bro. this fucken makes me mad. putting all this time, money and effort into this hobby and we always have to watch our backs 24/7.

i am just about fed up with this "sport."

i had the same feelings when my cx was robbed out from under me.....******* chop shops....stripped in no time.

 

I have a neighbor who is an FBI agent. People around here aren't used to this crap going on. I'm expecting he may ask a few people to look into some contacts I have had. I would bank on one guy locally I tuned that may have initiated something.

I am so sorry to hear this. I hope the thieves are caught.

Get your FBI neighbor involved. Local cops may not realize the magnitude of these import theft rings.

 

Hopfully you have full coverage. When they attemted to steal my car I thought I was at a loss because i did'nt think Allstate would cover thinks like piping, intercooler, bv, etc... Was I wrong, I cashed in! When the adjuster went to look at the car he just called Carboy (a local over priced shop) and got prices from them and cut me a check. I made $2800.00 after I replaced what was missing. He never asked for a single reciept. Actually i never meet the guy! Everyone said I had "platinum insurance"! They paid me, I don't see why they would'nt do the same for you! look one piece of advice, "make the best of your misfortune"! Cash in, you pay insurance evry month. Now it's your turn!

I just called my local insurance agent. I have really good insurance but never had "show car" coverage. I do have all the receipts for all the goodies that went in the car and a recent one with me standing in front of it with my engine out during the rebuild.

I wonder what I should get for a replacement??? any suggestions? maybe just a newer gsr and start over again with all the knowledge i've gained from this one?? maybe a prelude? still couldn't afford a bmw or supra so i think i'll stick to honda!

i have ALLSTATE and ive been meaning to call them and ask about this but i dont want them to know i have turbo and jack the rate up, from what ive heard its normally covered if the items are "bolted" down.

i'm sure things will work out in the end for torin but it's all the hard work,blood and sweat we pore into our cars that makes this so damn frustrating. some a-holes just think they can take what they didnt earn makes me mad just thinking about it, sometimes i feel like just getting out of this scene and buying a damn suv

Dude I feel the pain with you man! I remember when we all got our F-max kits and you were like the first to install yours. Also all the help you gave us and all the troubleshooting we did together....its like a slap in the face when you finally got your car the way you want it and it gets taken away...something really needs to be done about these mindless ruthless punks on the streets....good luck man...I hope you can build up another car just as good as your stolen one...

Holy **** man. im soooo sorry! I know this is everyones worst nightmare. I wish there was something i could do to help.. but if u get another integra, think on the brightside, with the knowledge u have now it will be Scarry fast.

 

Car stolen in ITHACA? damn that's scary, I guess it could happen anywhere.

Wow man...can't believe you got your car stolen....it seems it allways happens to members that pretty much never post on here, or it is one of their friends.

Having it happen to someone who I remember reading posts from all the time, really hits home.

Seriously, we need some sort of anti-car thief group or something. Thieves need to die, and die badly. Cowardly *******!

Gruvytune, I'm very sorry to hear that. I can't believe this **** is happing so close to home. Again I truly hope you can find the thieves before the cops do.

 

My car was stolen in the beginning of this year. Police found it 1/2 mile away. They couldn't start it up (Ignitor fried) and so they pushed it and stripped all the goods.

Hopefully you find it soon!! (With all the turbo goodies)
