Hi guys, I'm looking for an upgrade on my d12b. Sadly I don't have too many options (one possibility is going quad carb and upgrading the cam shaft). But other than that, can I supercharge my 1.2L engine?

 

Of course you can supecharge it. However, most of the kits out there are designed for fuel injected cars. You'd be looking to do some sort of blow through setup where the blower pushes air into the carb. That is doable, but won't be easy.

Have you considered converting it to fuel injection?

 

^ Nailed it. You can supercharge/turbocharge anything, however the extremely limited aftermarket for your car means you will have to do considerably more research and fabrication to do what you want. There will be no "bolt on" solution.

IMO, supercharging that car will probably be considerably harder in the fabrication work than just turbocharging it.

 

My first option was to quad carb it because it's just a simple bolt-on system and it doesn't put much strain on the engine. I haven't really considered supercharging it until my friend suggested it to me. Anyway, I want to maximize the power of the engine but also want to use it for long distance driving while having enough power to go uphill. What do you think? Is supercharging the way to go?
