Cam gears even worth it?
I have a gsr i will be boosting soon. only .45bar for now, but i was wondering if its worth it to pick up a set of adjustable cam gears. im just curious because i found a fairly good deal on some Hayame ones. thanks.
Thats all up to opinion. You have more of a chance to tune out most of the overlap usually found in stock cams. I dont know any actual hp#'s but I do know it will help.
I dont think they will do much unless you are changing to a thicker headgasket or doing engine work that will alter stock timing.

... what about when rebuilding a motor w/ forged internals?
not even worth it. too much room for error when playing with cam timing. unless you have a shop that is really knowledgeable in your area. we run both of our cars with stock gears. the risk and the hp gain is not worth it.

I don't own cam gears right now but i have had a few people tell me there the most bang for the buck, behind a CAI. I am getting mine in about 2 weeks. (Im havin a shop put them in for me though)
waste of money unless you got different turbo cams and your block or head was shaved for some reason or another. I have crower turbo cams so I had the cams degreed, turned out the cams needed to be adjusted by 3 on exhaust and 3 retarded on intake to set the cams up right.
