californians and boost.
I had a couple of questions.. I have enough for a b18b1, and I want to go turbo.. (revhard or drag III) but I wanted to know if it would be too much of a headache.. (cops harassing, smog) So with that in mind, here are my questions directed towards everybody in cali..
How does everybody pass smog with their turbo setups?
Has anybody been pulled over by the cops, and sent to a ref?
Thanks in advance.

You either take off the turbo when you have to smog or pay someone to pass it for you. Some cops will know what a intercooler is, so becareful. You can always flat black the IC though.

yea remember blow off vlaves are illegal too. Which i dont understand cause the air you release is already filtered, which i would think is cleaner than the air you sucked in.

Oh, and to answer your question.... I put a Greddy CARB legal sticker on my drag kit, just for added reassurance. But I have never been harrassed for specifically having a turbo kit. As long as you drive casual and dont draw attention you will be fine. I have owned 3 Turbo Integras all in CA for the last 5 years and no problems.

sure you're not talking about a wastegate here? I don't see why a BOV would be illegal under any circumstances. Unless maybe it has something to do with EGR stuff.

They are if you vent them to the atmosphere....

Is your grill cut out, so you can see the intercooler? Or is it just sleeper style?
I have never been harrased by the fuzz and I have a fat shiny IC filling my grill, but the grill is not cutout and I have a front plate so it hides it a little bit. When it comes time for smog I'm just going to take off the turbo and put the stock crap back on, it's a bitch but it's worth it!!
Like the other guys said, just drive casual and don't draw attention to yourself and you'll be fine.

You must be smoking some good stuff if you think bov's are illegal. What about the stock supras, saabs, they have stock bov?

correct me if im wrong but i believe all those cars u mentioned blow off back into the intake which makes them legal. I thought i remember reading about the greddy kits, if you add a bov the loose there carb exemption.
no the greddy kit does not come with a BOV. you can get one for abut 200.00 the reason stock cars like DSM, 300Z, Supras have stock BOVs but they reroute back into the intake pipe. you can reroute it back into the intake pipe and it maybe legal.
