Default calculating rod angles

I was checking on some parts for a customer and i called a shop for pricing on a motor and i asked him how much can an Eagle rod handle due to all of the contradictiong opinions. I was given some info on rod strength and i am curious as to how you calculate rod angle. Basically what i was told is this..if you keep rod angles at 18 degrees that you will not break an Eagle rod at anything less than 700 whp. This is from an extremly well known Honda engine builder.

So does anyone know how to calculate rod angle?
