burning ALOT of oil
I posted this in the force induction thread because im not sure if its a cause of my catch can or not. I would say that i burn about 2 quarts every 500 miles and roughly go through all the oil within less then thousand miles. Could this be happen because my catch can doesn't cycle back the oil or is it normal for a gsr to burn oil like this. Me and a friend did a compression check and it came back 185,195,200,185. So the compression is good, any other reason that you guys can think of?
How much are you draining your catch can? Does the car smoke? Could be a turbo issue, could be an engine issue. Is it normal for a GSR to consume 4.5 quarts of oil per 1000 miles.....ahhhhh no.
Had to laugh when i read this. I would say i have to change the catch can probably once every 2 weeks. I dont want to say its the turbo cause it was just built with stage 5 wheels. The car does not smoke more then normal though. I know my friend was saying that he thought i was burning oil when i got on.
Are you sure you dont have a leak somewhere that you aren't noticing or is all the oil burning and giving off blue exhaust smoke...?? How does your drain line on the turbo look? Why was the turbo rebuilt?
